On May 2nd, B-ONE and SMART had the honor of being invited as a speaker at Brawijaya University’s Faculty of Agriculture for a technical seminar titled “Safe Handling of Hazardous Chemicals & Teknik Penggunaan dan Perawatan Lemari Asam.”, committed to ensuring best practices in laboratory safety and chemical management.
The session was divided into two core topics. First, we explored the principles and protocols of handling hazardous chemicals safely by using a laminar air flow from B-ONE x SMART. After that, we shows usage and maintenance of fume hoods or what is being known as lemari asam, which are critical in controlling and ensuring air quality in laboratory environments is not hazardous.
We began with an overview of the fume hood’s anatomy, proper operating procedures, common mistakes, and routine maintenance practices to extend lifespan and maintain safety performance. We also introduced the SMART x B-ONE features, including an automatic sash system that detects user presence, closes the sash when not in use, and adjusts its height based on the user’s position, making it a safe and energy-efficient option for laboratory use.

We’re grateful for their warm welcome as we able to show the audience about the usage of automatic laminar air flow and how to use it properly.
We hope events like this could raise awareness about using laminar flow hoods when handling hazardous chemicals, as well as how to maintain them for long-term use.
